The Mag-aso falls are a real hidden treasure. They are located near Antequera, a small town about 20 kilometers from Tagbilaran, the main city of the Bohol Province, in the Central Visayas Region, among the islands of Cebu, Mindanao and Leyte.
They are the biggest falls of the island and you can reach them renting a Van, by which you could visit also the surroundings: Corella, Loboc and the Chocolate Hills.
Alternatively you can rent a habal-habal for about 300 Pesos (return ticket). The Habal-habal is a peculiar mean of transport very common in the Philippines.
The Mag Aso waterfalls offer the tourist a very impressive location. A magical landscape in the middle of a wall of plants and trees where the waterfall occurs with a few meters of jumps, but with a large lagoon below where you can swim.
The place is gorgeous and diving or playing in the water is a unique experience not to be missed. The only things to be aware of are the currents during the monsoon season, the deep water near the waterfalls and the stones when you enter the water , because they are covered with moss.
Make sure you buy food and water before going to enjoy your day at the waterfalls because in this unspoiled nature there are no places to buy something and you will not have the will to go back to take advantage of one of the local restaurants in town.
